Third iteration of EDP-Tsinghua Joint Executive Program in Business and Public Management concludes in December 2008

In December 2008, the EDP successfully completed its third joint executive education event with China’s Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management. The group, thirty senior-level executives from China’s public administration sector, attended a two-week series of lectures focused on business strategy and public management.  The curriculum included topics on business ethics, sustainability, human resources, strategic planning, project management, and financial management and markets. GW professors also offered insights on the current financial climate in the United States and the subsequent economic implications for China and the global economy.

The program sought opportunities outside the classroom as well, working together with globally-focused organizations to provide participants contact with top specialists in the fields of economics, climate, and technology.  In collaboration with the World Bank, the school hosted Dr. Deepak Bhattasali, Chief of the bank’s Economics Unit and Lead Economist for China; Dr. Yan Zhang, urban economist within the Europe and Central Asia region at the bank; Dr. Yan Wang, Senior Economist and Program Leader of the Investment Climate team, and Brian Glade, Director of International Programs for The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
